Bank statement to Excel
Every transaction in its own row with real dates and numbers, ready for filters and pivot tables.
Read more →Drop a PDF statement from any bank and get every transaction as data – checked against the opening and closing balance, without uploading anything.
The problem
Banks give you a PDF, but your spreadsheet, your accountant and your bookkeeping software need data. Retyping transactions takes hours and a single typo spoils the reconciliation.
Many banks only offer CSV or MT940 for recent months, and new clients often arrive with nothing but PDF statements. BankToCSV reads the PDF and gives you the transactions as data – with a balance check, so you know nothing was missed.
How it works
Download the statement as PDF from your online banking and drop it on the page. Nothing is uploaded.
Every transaction appears in a table with date, description and amount. We check the opening and closing balance for you.
Choose Excel, CSV, MT940, CAMT.053 or OFX and import the file into your spreadsheet or accounting software.

Browser extension
With the BankToCSV extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox the converter opens from your toolbar, and you can right-click a PDF link in your online banking to convert it straight away. Everything stays in your browser.
No. The PDF is read by your own browser. The transactions never leave your computer, and we cannot see them.
BankToCSV recognises the layout of the statement itself – dates, descriptions, debit and credit columns and balances – so it works with statements from most banks. See supported banks.
We read the opening and closing balance from the statement and check that opening balance + all transactions = closing balance. If the statement has a running balance, we check every row. You see the result before you download.
Not yet. BankToCSV needs a PDF with text, the kind you download from your online banking. A scan or photo contains only an image.
One statement per day to Excel or CSV is free. Business costs €9.92 per month (billed yearly) and adds unlimited statements, MT940, CAMT.053, OFX, QBO and batches. See pricing.
